How it is triggered
- When, during GPO application, part of the security settings could not be processed and errored.
Security review points
- A processing error indicates the intended security settings may not be in effect (a defensive gap). Investigate persistent application failures of important settings in particular.
- Also consider the slight possibility of an attacker disrupting GPO processing to prevent defensive settings from applying. Together with success 6144, assess policy-application health.
